Cyprus does beach clubs very well and in a very unique way.
There is something about the combination of Mediterranean sunshine, clear water, good food and the island’s naturally relaxed pace that makes it very easy to arrive for a few hours and remain until sunset.
Having spent time at beach clubs across the island, I have developed a definite personal shortlist. Some are beautifully relaxed, while others deliver a more elevated, high-energy experience. What connects them is that each offers more than a row of sunbeds and somewhere to have lunch.
These are my five current favourites, both for spending a day by the sea and, through my Serenity lens, for their potential as coastal settings for private events.
1. RIVA Beachouse — Ayia Napa Marina
RIVA is firmly in my top five and has become somewhere I can happily spend an entire day.
On my most recent visit, I began the morning with an Eleven Pilates class overlooking the sea. We stayed for lunch afterwards and, before long, what could have been a short visit had turned into a complete beach day.
That is part of RIVA’s appeal. You do not feel as though you need to choose between wellness, lunch and time beside the water. The day flows naturally from one into the next.
Located at Ayia Napa Marina, RIVA has a distinctive retro-inspired aesthetic influenced by the glamour of travel during the 1960s and 1970s. The interiors give it a strong sense of identity, while its coastal location keeps the atmosphere relaxed rather than overly formal.
The food is also a genuine reason to visit. Lunch has been consistently delicious, but one dish deserves a special mention:
The Caribbean Poke is my favourite poke bowl on the island.
Fresh, colourful and full of flavour, it is exactly what I want to eat during a warm day by the sea. It is the dish I would return for without needing to look at the rest of the menu.
RIVA is also particularly interesting from a Serenity perspective because of its private-event potential. Its setting, design and different areas could work beautifully for a celebration, welcome party, wedding reception, brand gathering or corporate experience by the coast.

Best for: A complete beach day combining wellness, lunch and time beside the sea. Families are also welcome on the beach while the pool area is for adults only.
The events lens: A stylish coastal setting for private celebrations, welcome events and relaxed brand experiences.
2. Columbia Sun — Lady’s Mile, Limassol
Columbia Sun is another firm favourite.
Set on Lady’s Mile Beach, it has everything I want from an all-day beach club: considered interiors, comfortable spaces for relaxing, a strong menu and service that makes the experience feel effortless.
I have visited both Columbia Sun and Columbia Beach and, for me, there is no comparison:
Columbia Sun wins on service, music, menu and interior.
That is precisely the kind of distinction I want to make through Serenity in the City. Not everything that photographs well or has the greatest online visibility necessarily delivers the best experience in person.
Columbia Sun feels more complete. It strikes the right balance between being polished and still feeling like somewhere you can genuinely relax for the day. The surroundings are elevated without becoming intimidating, and the experience feels carefully considered from arrival through to lunch and time on the beach.
Lady’s Mile also has a different character from the central Limassol coastline. It feels more spacious and removed from the city while remaining within easy reach of it, making Columbia Sun a lovely option when you want a change of pace.
Best for: Excellent service, thoughtfully designed surroundings and a polished day at Lady’s Mile.
The events lens: A stylish choice for an intimate coastal dinner, private gathering or client experience outside its standard operating format.
3. Serena Beach — Pernera
Serena Beach is another of my favourites and a great option for a full day beside the sea.
Its setting in Pernera has a more secluded feeling than many of the island’s larger beach clubs. Surrounded by greenery and tucked around the bay, it feels as though you have discovered somewhere rather than simply arrived at another venue along the coast.
The atmosphere is relaxed during the day, with food and drinks available from your sunbed, but it becomes livelier as the afternoon unfolds. Music is an important part of the experience, making Serena a good choice when you want more energy than a quiet beach but something less formal than the island’s most luxurious clubs.
This is somewhere I would recommend for a day with friends: arrive early enough to settle in, have lunch, order drinks and allow the afternoon to take its own course.
It also offers a different side of the eastern coast. Ayia Napa and Protaras are often associated with busy resorts, but places such as Serena show that the area can also deliver smaller, more characterful beach experiences.
Best for: A relaxed beach day with friends that becomes livelier as the afternoon continues.
The events lens: A characterful setting for an informal celebration, chic boho luxury weddings, sunset gathering or social event by the water.
4. NAMMOS Limassol — Parklane Resort
NAMMOS offers the most elevated and internationally recognisable beach-club experience on this list.
Located at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, it brings the brand’s signature Mykonian energy to the Limassol coastline. The setting is polished, the Mediterranean menu is refined, and the atmosphere can move from relaxed beachfront dining into something much livelier and more music-led as the day develops.
This is the option I would choose when the brief calls for glamour.
NAMMOS is less about an understated afternoon beside the water and more about making the beach day itself an occasion. It is somewhere to dress for, book ahead and experience when you want the food, setting, service and atmosphere to feel deliberately elevated.
Its location at Parklane also makes it particularly relevant for international visitors staying in Limassol, as well as wedding or corporate groups looking for an experience that already carries a globally recognised name.
The experience is naturally at a higher price point than some of the other beach clubs on this list, but it serves a different purpose. NAMMOS is not trying to be a hidden local find. It is offering a polished Mediterranean lifestyle experience with a distinct sense of theatre.
Best for: A glamorous lunch or dinner, special occasion or elevated beach-club experience.
The events lens: Luxury wedding gatherings, high-end brand experiences, client entertainment and stylish private celebrations.
5. Captain’s Cabin — Lady’s Mile, Limassol
Captain’s Cabin completes my current top five.
Also located along Lady’s Mile Beach, it offers a different experience from Columbia Sun. Where Columbia Sun feels more design-led and polished, Captain’s Cabin has a more relaxed and familiar beach-day atmosphere.
It is the kind of place that works particularly well when you want to spend several easy hours beside the water without overplanning the day. There are sunbeds, a waterfront restaurant and a menu that includes seafood, Mediterranean dishes, grilled food and familiar beachside favourites.
Captain’s Cabin is also a good reminder that a memorable beach day does not always need to be the most luxurious one. Sometimes you simply want the sea close by, a relaxed lunch and somewhere that works for a mixed group of family or friends.
Its setting on the long stretch of Lady’s Mile gives it plenty of coastal character and makes it another useful option when exploring the beach clubs outside central Limassol.
Best for: An easy-going beach day with friends or family.
The events lens: Relaxed celebrations, informal dinners and larger social occasions by the sea.
The Private-Events Possibilities
One of the things I find particularly interesting about Cyprus’s beach clubs is that they do not necessarily have to remain beach clubs.
Depending on the season, availability and each venue’s private-hire arrangements, these settings may be considered for events outside peak tourism periods or after their usual operating hours during the summer.
Once the rows of sunbeds are reimagined and the space is approached as an event venue, the possibilities become much broader.
A beach club could host:
A destination-wedding reception or welcome party
A post-wedding lunch or recovery day
A milestone birthday celebration
A private sunset dinner
A brand launch or press event
A corporate gathering or incentive experience
An intimate celebration with dinner and music beside the sea
Each of my five favourites offers something different.
RIVA has its distinctive design and lifestyle-led feel. Columbia Sun offers a polished environment and beautiful interiors. Serena brings intimacy and atmosphere. NAMMOS provides international luxury and energy, while Captain’s Cabin lends itself to something more relaxed and informal.
Naturally, private hire is always subject to the venue’s approval, season, operating schedule, capacity and event requirements. But for clients who want an experience that feels unmistakably connected to Cyprus, these beach clubs create some very interesting possibilities.
The Serenity Lens
For me, a good beach club needs to deliver more than a beautiful photograph.
The food matters. The service matters. The atmosphere matters. The music matters. Most importantly, the experience should make you want to stay longer than you originally intended.
That is what connects these five venues.
They each offer a different interpretation of a day beside the Mediterranean, from RIVA’s design-led setting and my favourite poke bowl on the island to the glamour of NAMMOS and the relaxed character of Lady’s Mile.
They are places I have enjoyed personally, but they are also places I continue to look at professionally: not only for what they are during an ordinary summer day, but for what they could become when transformed for the right event.
