Empowering future generations of creative talent!

During the summer, I was one of the lucky individuals who had been selected to be a part of a programme called The Holiday Club, a talent incubator designed to develop the next generation of creative talents. ‘The Origins’, offers readers a unique view into the realms of fashion and music, featuring interviews that uncover the stories behind inspiring creative talent in the industry.

The magazine was created by myself and 24 other individuals from The Holiday Club’s Summer School, powered by Offspring. Giving us, the young talents, an insight into the creative industry. During our 3 weeks in the studio, we connected with leading industry experts across fashion, beauty, production, music and communications who provided us with a 1:1 mentorship, escalating our growth as individuals. Networking is truly the key to growth in the creative industry. As well as this, we created and designed shoots featuring The Flag Twins, Gary Gill, Taiba Taiba and many more. This really built my confidence, being able to generate ideas as a team and bring them to life.

Founder, Charaf Tajer shared the story and thoughts behind the global brand Casablanca Paris, as well as the creative process and development, highlighting the working talent behind such a well-known brand. Being a part of this programme has given me a true insight into the creative industry and it does not end here, days after our zine was released we were mentioned by global magazines such as Vogue, Hero Mag, and Show Studio!

This was not just a programme to me but a big highlight of 2023, having the opportunity to be apart of The Holiday Club has taught me how to connect the different creative industries, e.g. relating art & fashion to events. Next year I aim to enhance my work within events by focusing more on design, tangible touches, to create memorable experiences for clients!

From start to finish experiences like this are invaluable to people like myself adore all areas of the creative industry - forever thankful!
Until 2024!

Christmas Send Off !

With Christmas coming up, spirits are high and everyone is posting about their holiday plans, ideas and set ups. It’s safe to say that everyone enjoys the festive feeling.

However with that being said, I think it’s important to remember that Christmas isn’t all about the presents and extravaganza, but the quality time you spend with friends and family.

It’s a time for reflection, thanksgiving and a chance to set new goals.

With that, here are 3 things I aim to do this Christmas

- Catch up on everything i’m behind in. Christmas is a great time for relaxing and fun but also a perfect opportunity to get back on track with anything you’re slipping in.

- Spend plenty of time with friends. Like I said earlier, the festive feeling cannot be beaten and with that comes many christmassy plans with my closest friends such as ice skating, going to see the lights etc .

-  Rest. I think it’s also important that I use some of my time to focus on myself too, take a break, relax and enjoy the holiday !

On that note, I hope everyone has a lovely & blessed christmas what ever that looks like for you, happy holidays!

Azura

With such a large selection of restaurants and spots to choose from, living in London I know how hard it can be to decide on one place to spend the day out at whether that be to eat or just to lounge. However with that being said, if you’re looking for something simple yet delicious to eat in Central London where you can also lounge with friends, then I have the perfect place for you.

I visited Azura recently to test out the new spots in London. The restaurant is in Camden Town which is already a great location in itself, the only thing about Camden is that its so busy, so if you’re planning to travel with public transport, make sure you’re leaving enough time to travel and get past all the bustle.

When I arrived the staff were very welcoming and friendly, we were slightly early for our reservation but they took us straight to our seats and got us sat down. After a few minutes we ordered drinks and food and everything moved fairly quickly. I got the calamari which also came with a salad and my friend got lamb chops, and as you do we both decided on a side of fries. One thing to note about this restaurant is that the portions are very small, so if you have a big appetite this may not be the place for you. However, with that being said, I most definitely did not leave hungry. Despite the size I still found myself satisfied with the amount that I had eaten and the food definitely did not disappoint either. My only real criticism about this restaurant is the pricing. For two small portioned mains, two sides, and two soft drinks we paid almost £60 on top of an additional 12.5% compulsory service charge. I think the food and the service was lovely however, you could go to a traditional Turkish restaurant and get the same quality meal for a more reasonable price.

Azura also offer a shisha menu for any 18+ guests and have a lounging strip if you’re with a big group of friends. Overall, i’d say that if you’re willing to pay slightly more for a standard meal out in London then Azura is worth the shot for a day out.
